"STEPHEN DYER, a soldier of the Revolution, Died Feb 27, 1847, Age 95". Stephen was born, Jan 10, 1752, to Samuel and Patience Williams Dyer, in Cranston, Rhode Island. He married his first wife, Sarah Mathewson, 1750-1814, on May 3, 1778, in Cranston, R.I. They had four known children, Amy, Huldah, Edmund and William. Stephen married widow Hannah Green Peirce, Nov 26, 1815, in Chester, VT. They are both buried in Brookside Cemetery, Hanah, with her first husband and Stephen in his military plot. Sarah is also there.
